Usually what pushes us to look at who we are and what we stand for is a challenging issue of some kind; having to face something that seems completely out of our control for example. This often looks like change that we didn’t see coming or didn’t ask for, we are unprepared. And because we are creatures of comfort, finding security in feeling like we know what to expect, unexpected changes can cause us to resist the flow of what is best for us and cling to what we thought we had.

We make plans, because plans are important to help guide us to what we want. We try to treat people fairly, trust, and forgive. And sometimes it’s just not easy.
There comes a time in life when you stop in your tracks, look back and realize that things haven’t turned out the way you thought that they would. There comes a time when every person is given an opportunity to evaluate where they are at, what they have done and where they’d like to go next in life. It is at this time that we can see, more clearly, the choices that we have made and why, and considers making brand new choices to create new experiences. It is at this time that we can, as adults, take all of the experiences and knowledge we have gathered and master our life. Really? As children, most of us were not taught how to live life. We were not taught how to evaluate what the most likely outcome of a choice would be, how to manage our emotions, heal from our past, trust the Universe, and find balance. We were not taught because our teachers just did not know.
