We all know that life can be hard, and relationships…even more difficult! So often it happens that just as we get comfortable, something comes up that challenge our beliefs, how we feel or what we want. And when we look at the world, often we see distress, struggle, sadness and conflict. Is the world reflecting how people in it feel collectively or what?
I say that yes, the world is reflecting our collective experiences and fears. But it can be such a challenge to stay optimistic and positive about our lives when we are faced with word-issues that seem much bigger than us individually, can’t it?
Well here is the good news; if the world is a reflection of the people in it, then if people change, the whole world can and would change! It might not happen overnight, but it can happen.
I’m sure that you have heard the saying, “Change is inevitable.” That saying is true…how many times have you been happy and then things changed? Well, “nothing ever stays the same”, even the negative things that we experience. Looking at this would then lead us to be able to conceive that everything changes, desirable and undesirable. So the world can change, and if you look closely enough, you might see evidence that is already is changing.
Some people think that people do not change, and I understand why…changing who we are or what we stand for can be difficult, but it can happen. Traditionally, the catalyst for change came from extreme struggle or someone hitting “rock bottom”. How often have you pushed yourself toward something, resisted who you were and then have things collapse? Did you take that as an opportunity to reevaluate what was going on and get a new perspective? A new perspective comes from some kind of realization and that new perspective spawns new action and a different state of being.
Although some people still rely on problems to motivate them to change, the time that we live in, now more than ever, supplies us with more and new opportunities to create change within ourselves before the huge challenge strikes! All it takes to change the world is to begin taking full responsibility for your self and stop playing the victim. Think about how the world would be different if one of five people did this! It starts with me. It starts with you. You might be surprised to wake up one morning and see that the sun shines brighter, people are friendlier and opportunities are more abundant. Don’t give up on the world that you live in and more importantly, don’t give up on yourself! Because sometimes the most subtle realizations create the most drastic change in our experiences! Have you decided to stop resisting change lately?
