Fear & Love: The Spiritual Connection

I was going to discuss something entirely different than what the headline suggests, but then it occurred to me that some previous posts mentioned that I would later discuss fear and love, so I thought I’d travel down that road instead.  This topic is expanded on in the Ethereal Clearing program that my husband and I teach (and will be available online within the coming weeks!)

What is fear? Well, most people hear the word fear and immediately think of feeling afraid.  Did you know or have you ever considered that fear is much more than a feeling?

Many spiritually involved people believe that there are only two main emotions, which are fear and love.  Some even suggests that fear and love create the duality that we experience in life, and I can not disagree…but I would like to take it a step farther.

Love truly is all there is, but how can that be true when we know that fear exists?  Let’s look at the definition of fear:

Fear:  The illusion of the absence of God and love.

Okay, so if love is all there is, then this would make sense because fear is just an illusion.  But where does fear come from and why does it exist at all?  And dog-gone it, how can we overcome fear?

Fear, because it is an illusion, is love.  But when we feel afraid, we usually don’t feel like we are experiencing love, do we?  So what’s the point?

The point of fear is to allow for and create varied experiences in life.  From the spiritual aspect, consciousness in the Ethereal Realm that are fully realized, realize themselves to be All That Is.  Being All That Is, there really isn’t any experience other than that…being everything all at once.  Fear was created to allow consciousness to have subjective experiences (ultimately of itself), and in doing so, uses the illusion of the ABSENCE of love.  This includes the illusion that you are not love as well.

Many people strive to become “enlightened”, which to most of those people means to realize that they are part of All That Is (not just knowing that they are, or thinking that they are, but truly realizing it).  We refer to getting to this realization as being in “essence”.

Essence:  The realization and acceptance of both love and fear.

The idea of being in your essence might sound fantastic (especially if you are bombarded with negativity and difficult circumstances), but most people who realize their essence actually do not choose to remain there.  Why not?  Because there isn’t much variation, and frankly, it is boring.  Most people that truly realize their essence choose to use fear again to experience variation, only now they always have a knowingness of their essence and can more easily choose to go back to that state at their will.

So, do we want to get rid of all fear?  Potentially, but if you are realizing more fear than love (which we call denial), getting back to essence would be the neutral point, which would then allow you to realize all love, if you choose.

Later, we will go over how fear disguises itself so that you can begin to transform the fear in your life back into a more balanced state.  But just keep this in mind, if you desire enlightenment, ask yourself what you think would be different once you obtained it.  I mean, do you imagine yourself to sprout wings?  Grow a halo?  Think about the expectations that you might have because often times those expectations are driving you toward some vague idea of something “better” or “easier”, and that in itself would be fear driving your bus!
